Introduction of Shanghai Better Education Consulting Center
Shanghai Better Education Consulting Center is the first non-profit organization in China which is dedicated to financing education for teenagers. Through the volunteers' network and internet, Better Education offers lively financial education program to schools and community centers, to help teenagers grow into modern citizens with self restraints, sense of social responsibility, critical thinking and long-term life targets as well as a thorough understanding of life.
Better Education believes that financial education (or economic education) is not simply about teaching knowledge and building up skills. It is more of cultivating sense of values and personality, which is an integral part of contemporary Life Education, initiated by the great Educator Tao Xing Zhi one hundred years ago. Teenagers are the future of China. Therefore, improved financial awareness and skills of teenagers lay the foundation not only for the healthy and stable growth of the Chinese economy, but also lifelong happiness of teenagers themselves.
Better Education has developed various program of financial education, including lectures, optional courses, students’ society activities, games, dramas, debates, as well as financial handbooks for teenagers and online learning center of financial knowledge. Better Education also offers financial workshops to teachers and students’ parents, and financial lectures in community centers.
Better Education is targeted towards teenagers aged 5 to 22, including students at high schools and vocational schools, teachers, parents, as well as underprivileged teenagers like migrant workers’ children and young entrepreneurs.
Better Education is willing to work closely with partners to develop various financial program and activities that meet different social demands.
